2026 Toyota RAV4 size next to the CR-V, Tucson, CX-5 and Sportage

The Toyota RAV4 is 4600 mm long and 1855 mm wide. The 2025 sheet matches that length, that width and the wheelbase. The lowest car in the table is the Toyota RAV4 2026. The Honda CR-V differs by +95 mm in length and +10 mm in wheelbase. The Hyundai Tucson differs by +40 mm in length and +65 mm in wheelbase. The Mazda CX-5 differs by +90 mm in length and +125 mm in wheelbase. The Kia Sportage differs by +61 mm in length and +66 mm in wheelbase.

How to read this table

Updated: 3 November 2026.

The first row is the base. A delta is the other car minus that RAV4. Width is official body width and excludes mirrors. Height is to the roof, which can change with rails and trim, so two sheets of one name can disagree. Wheelbase is the distance between the axles. The figures come from the indexed sheets.

2026 vs 2025 RAV4

The 2026 sheet and the 2025 sheet are the same generation. The height gap of +20 mm is a sheet and market difference, Toyota Canada against the global newsroom, not a redesign. Length, width and wheelbase match. Toyota UK lists height 1,700 mm, the GR Sport at 1,685 mm, and a GR Sport width of 1,880 mm.

The 2019 predecessor is the Toyota RAV4 sheet. It differs by −5 mm in length, 0 mm in width, +40 mm in height and 0 mm in wheelbase: a little shorter, the same width, the same wheelbase, and taller. The model page and the pair page are linked.

CR-V and Tucson

The current-generation CR-V sheet, the Honda CR-V, differs by +95 mm in length, +11 mm in width, +20 mm in height and +10 mm in wheelbase. The longest car in the table is the Honda CR-V. The widest is the Honda CR-V. The width gap against the 2026 sheet is a door gap, not a different class, and the length gap is what a short bay notices. A turning figure is not cited.

The current-generation Tucson sheet, the Hyundai Tucson, differs by +40 mm in length, +10 mm in width, +5 mm in height and +65 mm in wheelbase. It is a little longer, a little wider and a little taller than the 2026 sheet, with a longer wheelbase. The wheelbase gap is where the cabin between the axles stops being the same shape.

CX-5 and Sportage

The Mazda CX-5 differs by +90 mm in length, +5 mm in width, +35 mm in height and +125 mm in wheelbase. It is longer and barely wider than the 2026 sheet. The tallest car in the table is the Toyota RAV4 2019. The longest wheelbase is the Mazda CX-5. The extra wheelbase is the part a rear passenger notices.

The Kia Sportage differs by +61 mm in length, +9 mm in width, +1 mm in height and +66 mm in wheelbase. This sheet is the long-wheelbase body. Height is almost the 2026 sheet. A pair page with that sheet is not in this guide.

A UK garage bay

The UK preset is 5000 mm long, 2500 mm wide and 2100 mm high. The door rule is 300 mm on each side. The walkway rule is 600 mm of spare length. Mirrors are not added. The allowance in the tool is 220 mm on each side, and this table leaves it off.

These cars are shorter than the preset, so the spare length is positive. It is still under the walkway rule. The 2026 sheet has 400 mm spare and 322.5 mm at each door. The Honda CR-V has 305 mm spare and 317 mm at each door. The Hyundai Tucson has 360 mm spare and 317.5 mm at each door. The side gaps clear the door rule. The spare lengths do not clear the walkway. Width is close across the three, which is why the door result agrees. Spare height stays comfortable: 440 mm for the 2026 sheet under this ceiling.

Toyota RAV4 clears the 300 mm door rule by 22.5 mm; Honda CR-V clears the 300 mm door rule by 17 mm; Hyundai Tucson clears the 300 mm door rule by 17.5 mm.

A recall to know about

US NHTSA recall 26V659 covers 30,978 2026 RAV4 plug-in hybrids. A motor-generator ECU error can cut power or shut the system down at higher speeds. Dealers update the software free of charge. Toyota's number is 26TA22. Letters are expected from 22 November 2026. It does not change any size here. Check your VIN with NHTSA.

What the figures do not say

Boots are not compared. The published litres on these sheets are not one test. A seats-up figure and a behind-the-second-row figure can both be honest and still not rank. Open the model page for the boot. Turning figures are not cited. The 2026 RAV4 sheet and the CR-V sheet do not publish one here.

Height moves with roof rails and trim. The 2026 Canada sheet, the 2025 global-launch sheet and the 2019 predecessor are three heights in the table. Toyota UK's press pack names a standard height and a GR Sport height, and those figures are not extra rows. Width excludes mirrors. A car that clears the door rule on body width can still brush a mirror in a narrow bay. Price and which powertrain is fitted are outside this comparison.

The UK preset is 5000 mm long, 2500 mm wide and 2100 mm high. Door clearance is the bay width minus the car width, halved. Doors are clear at 300 mm or more on each side. The rear walkway is clear at 600 mm or more of spare length. Official width excludes mirrors. The tool's mirror allowance is 220 mm on each side, and this table does not add that allowance.
