Official figures; width excludes mirrors. Source per car on each model page.

How to read this table

The first row is the base. Every delta is the other car minus the EV3, so a negative length is a shorter car and a positive length is a longer one. Widths exclude mirrors, except the Ford Puma Gen-E, whose figure is the folded-mirror width. Height is to the roof. Wheelbase is the distance between the axles. The figures are read from each indexed sheet when the page is built.

The base is the Kia EV3, model year 2024. The other rows are the Volkswagen ID. Cross, the Skoda Epiq, the Volvo EX30, the Ford Puma Gen-E and the BYD ATTO 3 EVO. A Spanish-market Epiq sheet records the same length, width, height and wheelbase. This guide uses the British-market sheet and does not link the other one. The Epiq model page is linked; it has no pair page with the EV3 or the ID. Cross.

ID. Cross and Epiq

The Volkswagen ID. Cross differs by −147 mm in length, −56 mm in width, +21 mm in height and −79 mm in wheelbase. The sheet's model year is 2026. It is shorter and narrower than the EV3, with a taller roof and a shorter wheelbase. In a tight kerbside space the length difference is how far the bumpers reach, and the width difference is the gap at the doors before a mirror is added. Front and rear overhangs are not on this sheet, so they are not stated here.

The Skoda Epiq differs by −129 mm in length, −52 mm in width, +21 mm in height and −79 mm in wheelbase. Its model year is 2026. The height difference matches the ID. Cross, and so does the wheelbase difference. The length and width differences do not. The Epiq is its own row, not a second copy of the ID. Cross.

EX30, Puma Gen-E and Atto 3 Evo

The Volvo EX30 differs by −67 mm in length, −13 mm in width, −11 mm in height and −30 mm in wheelbase. The model year on the sheet is 2023. It is shorter, narrower and lower than the EV3, with a shorter wheelbase. The height is the lowest in this table. A lower roof and a shorter body answer different questions in a bay.

The Ford Puma Gen-E differs by −86 mm in length, −45 mm in width, −5 mm in height and −92 mm in wheelbase. The model year is 2025. It is shorter and narrower, and only a little lower. The wheelbase difference is the largest shortfall in the table. This is the electric Puma sheet, not a petrol Puma.

The BYD ATTO 3 EVO differs by +155 mm in length, +25 mm in width, +55 mm in height and +40 mm in wheelbase. The model year is 2026. It is the long car in the set, and also the widest, the tallest and the one with the longest wheelbase. That is a larger footprint than the EV3, not a trim of it. The pair page is linked.

A UK garage bay

The garage check uses the garage-bay tool's UK preset, 5000 mm long, 2500 mm wide and 2100 mm high. Doors are clear at 300 mm or more on each side. The rear walkway is clear at 600 mm or more of spare length. Official width excludes mirrors, and the tool's mirror allowance of 220 mm on each side is not added back.

On that preset the Kia EV3 has 325 mm at each door, 700 mm of spare length and 540 mm of spare height. The Volkswagen ID. Cross has 353 mm at each door and 847 mm spare. The Volvo EX30 has 331.5 mm at each door and 767 mm spare. All three side gaps clear the door rule, and all three spare lengths clear the walkway rule. The shorter ID. Cross leaves the most spare length of the three.

Kia EV3 clears the 300 mm door rule by 25 mm; Volkswagen ID. Cross clears the 300 mm door rule by 53 mm; Volvo EX30 clears the 300 mm door rule by 31.5 mm.

What the figures do not say

Boot litres are left out. These sheets do not share one measuring basis, so a ranking would mix unlike figures. The model page is the place for the published boot. Turning figures are left out as well. The sheets do not measure them on one basis, and the ID. Cross sheet does not publish one.

Nothing here is a price, a range or a driving impression. Widths exclude mirrors, except the Ford Puma Gen-E, whose figure is the folded-mirror width. A car that clears this UK preset can still be tight once the mirrors are on. Open the garage-bay tool for another bay.

The UK preset is 5000 mm long, 2500 mm wide and 2100 mm high. Door clearance is the bay width minus the car width, halved. Doors are clear at 300 mm or more on each side. The rear walkway is clear at 600 mm or more of spare length. Official width excludes mirrors. The tool's mirror allowance is 220 mm on each side, and this table does not add that allowance.
