Engines are TSI petrol and TDI diesel units that run up to 19 percent more efficiently than the previous generation. Combined figures sit between 5.6 and 4.4 litres per 100 km depending on the powertrain and gearbox. All versions include Stop/Start and brake energy recuperation as standard.
A service interval display sits in the instrument cluster. Fixed-price service plans cover oil changes and inspections over three years or 30,000 miles. Brake fluid changes form part of the longer intervals.
The body uses high-strength steel for greater stiffness. Standard kit includes multi-collision braking, PreCrash protection that tightens belts and closes windows, ESC with XDS, and seven airbags (nine with optional second-row side bags). ISOFIX anchors and belt reminders cover every rear seat. Euro NCAP awarded five stars in 2015.
