Most PHEV grades such as SE, XSE and Woodland are rated to tow 1588 kg braked with AWD standard. The GR Sport is not rated for towing. Payload varies by grade around 500-580 kg. Woodland includes a tow hitch receiver. GR Sport has GR-tuned suspension.
The cabin feels quiet and practical with dual-zone climate control standard and a flat-folding rear seat for cargo. Higher grades add 8-way power front seats with heating and ventilation plus a heated steering wheel. Soft materials and a digital cluster create a clean everyday space with good space for five.

Toyota Safety Sense 4.0 comes standard on every grade. It adds better detection for pre-collision, lane tracing assist, and adaptive cruise. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert and safe exit alert are also standard. Eight airbags and a driver monitor camera round out the kit.
Crash results show Good in the small-overlap front test and Acceptable in the updated side test. The updated moderate-overlap front scores Marginal. NHTSA full ratings for this generation are not yet published.
