Braked towing is 1,300 kg.

Toyota Auris 2012–2015 car dimensions: 4275 mm long, 1760 mm wide and 1460 mm high. Braked towing is 1,300 kg.

The cabin has a driver-focused layout with soft-touch materials and good storage. Mid and higher grades get a 6.1-inch Toyota Touch screen with Bluetooth, USB and reversing camera as standard. Automatic climate control is fitted on most grades, with dual-zone on top trims. Cruise control appears on mid to high grades. Front and rear parking sensors with intelligent park assist are on higher grades. From the 2015 update, Toyota Safety Sense with pre-collision braking and lane departure alert is available as an option or on select trims.

Boot space is 360 litres with the rear seats up. Folding the 60:40 split rear seats expands it to 1200 litres. A dual-level load floor is available for a flatter load area.

Towing capacity reaches 1300 kg braked and 450 kg unbraked on many petrol and diesel engines. Hybrids have much lower limits or are not rated for towing. Payload varies by engine and trim.

The cabin feels more spacious and comfortable with soft-touch materials on the dashboard and door trims, padded armrests, and fabric-trimmed A-pillars. Front seats sit lower with longer travel and greater height adjustment for a better driving position, while sports seats with extra side support come on Sport grade. Higher Excel models add leather bolsters or full leather options, dual-zone climate control, and heated front seats. An optional Skyview panoramic roof floods the interior with light on top grades. Improved soundproofing cuts engine and road noise for a quieter ride.

Hybrid version delivers class-leading 87 g/km CO2 emissions.

Service interval every 12 months or 10,000 miles for most models.

Euro NCAP five-star rating under 2013 criteria.

Standard safety includes seven airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist, VSC, TRC and hill-start assist.

Fuel efficiency improved across the range thanks to aerodynamics, weight cuts and engine tweaks. The full hybrid stands out with very low CO2 and almost no NOx or particulates, cutting tax and running costs. Petrol and diesel options also use Stop & Start and other tech for better economy.

Servicing stays simple with intervals of 12 months or 10,000 miles on nearly all versions. The hybrid system brings lower routine maintenance charges overall. One later diesel variant stretches the mileage slightly further.

Safety is strong with a five-star Euro NCAP score. Every model gets seven airbags including a driver knee bag, plus ABS, electronic brake force distribution, brake assist, vehicle stability control, traction control and hill-start assist as standard. The body absorbs and channels crash energy away from the cabin, with pedestrian-friendly front design features.

The car is built for low ownership costs with good residual values expected. Hybrid buyers especially benefit from reduced service needs and emissions-based savings. Keep up with the regular intervals to maintain reliability.
