The cabin feels spacious and airy with good legroom front and rear plus supportive seats that hold well on bends. Height-adjustable front seats and a tilt-telescopic wheel help most drivers get comfortable quickly. Higher grades add dual-zone climate, leather, heated fronts and a large double-sliding panoramic roof that brightens the interior, though rear headroom drops a bit with it fitted. Some lower plastics feel hard but the overall layout is practical with a 430-litre boot that expands usefully.

Combined fuel economy 37.7-44.9 mpg (7.5-6.3 L/100 km) depending on engine and drive.

Service every 12 months or 15 000-20 000 km (whichever first), variable by engine and year.

Boosterjet petrol engines (1.0 and 1.4) deliver the quoted combined figures in the mid-to-high 40s mpg range on paper, with real-world returns typically a little lower. the earlier 1.6 petrol and short-lived diesel sit in a similar efficient band. ALLGRIP four-wheel-drive versions use a touch more fuel.

Routine servicing is straightforward and relatively inexpensive once the car is past three years. Intervals sit at 12 months or 15 000 km for early Boosterjet cars, stretching to 20 000 km or oil-life based on later examples. petrol engines use a chain so no regular belt change is needed.

Safety kit starts with seven airbags, ESP, ABS with EBD, hill-hold and tyre-pressure monitoring on every car. Higher grades add radar-based emergency braking and adaptive cruise. The body uses high-tensile steel and the 2013 five-star Euro NCAP score still applies to this generation.

Day-to-day ownership is simple: the car is light, parts are widely available and running costs stay low when the service schedule is followed. Regular oil and filter changes keep the turbo engines happy for high mileages.
