Dual-zone Climatronic climate control keeps temperatures steady for driver and passenger. Higher trims add heated front seats, a heated steering wheel and optional heated outer rear seats. Engines cover efficient petrol units including a three-cylinder 1.0 TSI and a 1.5 TSI with cylinder deactivation, plus diesel options with SCR systems. All meet the relevant Euro 6 standards of the period. Front- or all-wheel drive is offered depending on the powertrain, with manual or DSG gearboxes. Real-world economy stays competitive for the class when driven normally.
Servicing follows a variable interval based on the onboard indicator, typically reaching 30 000 km or two years for oil and inspection on most engines. Fixed shorter intervals can be selected. Common items such as filters, plugs and brake fluid follow the usual schedule. Skoda service plans help keep costs predictable.
Safety scored five stars in the 2017 Euro NCAP test with strong adult protection. Standard equipment covers driver and passenger airbags, side and curtain airbags, a driver knee airbag, Front Assist city emergency braking with pedestrian recognition, ESC and tyre pressure monitoring. Optional packs add blind-spot monitoring, lane assist, adaptive cruise and rear side airbags for a total of nine.
The car is straightforward to keep. Regular oil changes protect the engines, especially the belt-in-oil 1.0 TSI. AdBlue is needed on diesels. Body corrosion warranty is long and the structure is stiff. Parts and dealer support remain widely available across Europe.
