Renault Twizy 2011–2023 car dimensions: 2338 mm long, 1237 mm wide and 1454 mm high. Unladen weight is 474 kg. Boot space with the seats up is 31 litres.
The open cabin has tandem seats for driver and one passenger, with a 4-point belt up front, 3-point rear belt and driver airbag. A basic digital display shows speed, range and charge. Heated windscreen is standard on most versions. Optional scissor doors, zip-in windows, Bluetooth kit and rear parking sensors are available. No climate control, stereo or advanced aids.
Lockable 31-litre storage sits behind the rear seat. Two dashboard gloveboxes add 3.5 and 5 litres. An optional 50-litre bag straps to the passenger seat.
Towing is not possible. Payload is 115 kg on the two-seater. The Cargo version swaps the rear seat for a lockable 180-litre load space rated to 75 kg, suited to light urban deliveries.
The cabin is open and minimal with tandem seating, an adjustable front seat with built-in headrest, and basic waterproof foam padding. Optional scissor doors and zip-in windows add weather protection while a clear sky roof option lets in more light. There is no cabin heater so cold air rushes in at speed and a heated windscreen is standard or optional depending on version. Storage is limited to small lockable gloveboxes and a rear cubby.

The Twizy runs purely on electricity from its 6.1 kWh lithium-ion battery under the front seat. Official urban range is around 90-100 km depending on the 45 or 80 version. Servicing is straightforward at any Renault dealer. The first check comes after 30,000 km or one year, then every 60,000 km or two years. UK guidance also lists 18,000 miles or annually. Battery lease schemes once covered replacement and roadside help. later cars sold with the pack included.
Safety kit centres on a Renault Sport tubular frame with front crumple zones and side beams. Standard equipment includes a driver's airbag, four-point front seatbelt with anti-submarining seat, three-point rear belt, integrated headrests, four disc brakes and a pedestrian sound simulator. The 2014 Euro NCAP quadricycle test awarded two stars.
Living with the Twizy means treating it more like a scooter in poor weather: optional doors and windows help but the open cabin has no heater. Warranty is typically two to three years with unlimited mileage initially. Keep it charged in mild temperatures and use Renault network specialists for any high-voltage work.
