Braked towing is 2,000 kg.

Renault Espace 2006–2012 car dimensions: 4856 mm long, 1860 mm wide and 1746 mm high. Braked towing is 2,000 kg.

The cabin seats up to seven with individual sliding and removable seats on rails. Automatic dual-zone climate control with separate left/right controls is standard, with rear controls on higher grades. Cruise control with speed limiter is standard from mid trims like Dynamique. Rear parking sensors are standard except on base Authentique, with front sensors optional from Expression. Carminat navigation provides a 7-inch screen with Bluetooth and CD/MP3 on higher trims or as option. Reversing camera is available on later Phase 3 models and higher trims like Initiale.

Grand Espace boot holds 456 litres with seven seats up. It rises to 780 litres with five seats and reaches 3050 litres with rear seats removed.

Braked towing capacity is 2000 kg and unbraked is 750 kg across engines. Payload sits around 780 kg depending on version. Flexible seating and large load space suit family trips or light commercial work.

The cabin feels bright and spacious with large glazed surfaces and thin pillars for strong outward visibility. Front seats offer multi-way electric adjustment with memory and heating on higher grades, plus captain's chairs with lumbar support. Rear seats slide independently on rails, fold flat into tables and remove easily for maximum flexibility. Dual-zone climate control with individual vents reaches all rows, and an optional panoramic glass roof floods the interior with light while an electric blind controls heat and glare.

2.0 dCi engines return combined fuel use around 5.7-7.4 l/100 km depending on power and gearbox

Fuel tank holds 83 litres

Service interval 18 000 miles or two years

Five-star Euro NCAP rating with record 35.11 points out of 37

Six airbags standard, up to eight available, plus ABS, ESC and Isofix

Diesel 2.0 dCi versions deliver strong economy for a large MPV, with the 150 hp manual posting the lowest official combined figures near 5.7 l/100 km and CO2 as low as 150 g/km on later Euro 5 cars. Petrol options including the 3.5 V6 use more, typically over 9 l/100 km combined. The 83-litre tank supports long ranges on the efficient diesels.

Oil-change and service intervals stand at 18 000 miles or two years, whichever comes first, though some earlier schedules list 15 000 km or one year. Severe use can shorten the gap. Particle filters appear on many dCi engines.

Safety remains a standout: the generation scored a full five stars at Euro NCAP with the highest points total then recorded. Standard kit includes dual adaptive front airbags, front side airbags, curtain airbags for the first two rows, ABS with brake assist and electronic stability control. Rear side airbags and full-length curtains are optional, Isofix anchors are fitted, and the structure uses high-strength steel.

Living with the car centres on its modular seating that slides, folds and lifts out for cargo up to 3 050 litres on the Grand Espace. Hands-free card, rear parking sensors and dual-zone climate are widespread. Regular servicing keeps the electronics and diesels reliable over high mileages.
