Porsche Panamera 2017–2020 car dimensions: 5049 mm long, 1937 mm wide and 1428 mm high. Unladen weight is 1,955 kg. Braked towing is 2,200 kg.
The cabin uses the Porsche Advanced Cockpit with a 12.3-inch central touchscreen, dual digital displays beside an analogue tachometer, and haptic centre-console controls. Apple CarPlay comes standard via Connect Plus, along with navigation and a basic sound system. Automatic climate control is standard, dual-zone on entry models and four-zone available higher up or as an option. Cruise control is standard. ParkAssist front and rear sensors are standard. Adaptive cruise, autonomous emergency braking via Porsche Active Safe, lane keep assist, blind-spot/lane change assist and a reversing camera or surround view are optional packages, though some higher grades or markets fit more of them as standard. The layout suits four adults well, with a narrow occasional fifth rear seat.
Boot space measures 520 litres to the seat backs on non-hybrid models, rising to 1390 litres with the 40:20:40 rear seats folded flat. Hybrids start lower at around 425 litres due to the battery. The tailgate is powered as standard, the load lip is low at 628 mm, and the floor is nearly flat when seats are down.
Braked towing capacity reaches 2200 kg and unbraked 750 kg across the range. Payload sits around 650-700 kg depending on engine and equipment, with gross vehicle weights from roughly 2550 kg upward.
Air suspension is standard from S models and available elsewhere. No specific heavy-duty cooling or reinforced suspension packs appear in the published equipment lists. The car is a luxury performance estate rather than a dedicated work vehicle, though the flat load bay, powered tailgate and optional luggage management rails support occasional practical use.
The cabin pairs sporty supportive seats with high-quality materials and a driver-focused layout. Front seats adjust electrically in multiple ways for a low secure position. Rear outer seats feel like individual chairs with good headroom from the raised roof line. Optional massage, ventilation and four-zone climate add long-trip ease. The middle rear spot is tight. Overall it feels premium and cocoon-like for four adults.
Oil change every 10,000 miles or 1 year
Intermediate service every 20,000 miles or 2 years
Major service every 40,000 miles or 4 years
No Euro NCAP or NHTSA crash-test rating published
Standard safety includes multi-airbag system, ABS, PSM stability control and traction management
Fuel use depends on the engine chosen. Petrol V6 and V8 models return mid-20s to mid-30s mpg on combined cycles in published figures. Plug-in hybrids claim far higher efficiency with electric range for short trips.
Servicing follows a fixed schedule of annual oil changes plus intermediate checks at two years or 20,000 miles and major work at four years or 40,000 miles. Brake fluid is due every two years.
No independent crash-test stars appear for this generation. Standard kit covers front, side and curtain airbags plus electronic stability and traction systems. Many driver aids such as adaptive cruise or lane assist are optional or limited to higher grades.
Keep the car with regular dealer or specialist attention to the air suspension, PDK gearbox and any hybrid battery. Warranty is typically three years unlimited mileage in some markets or four years/50,000 miles in others.
