Front air-conditioning is standard. Higher grades add rear air-conditioning and automatic climate control. Cruise control is available on many grades and became standard later in the run. The top Ti grade has a 7-inch colour touchscreen with satellite navigation plus a reversing camera. The cabin seats five or seven with split-fold middle and side-fold third-row seats on most versions, plus power windows, height and lumbar adjust on the driver's seat, and Bluetooth on later examples.

Diesel models return a combined fuel consumption of 10.8 litres per 100 km. Some variants include a main tank plus a sub-tank that extends driving range and is switched from the dash.
Scheduled servicing is required every 10,000 km or six months, whichever comes first. Dealer programs lock in fixed prices for the first 120,000 km under normal conditions.
The Y61 earned a 3-star ANCAP rating. Dual frontal airbags are standard, with side airbags on higher grades. ABS operates in two- and four-wheel drive, and the Zone Body structure uses crush zones plus a reinforced cabin.
