The Tekna has dual-zone climate control with rear controls as standard. Cruise control comes with a speed limiter. The 2.5 dCi returns official combined figures of 33.2 mpg with the six-speed manual and 31.4 mpg with the five-speed automatic. CO2 sits at 224 g/km for manuals and 238 g/km for automatics so expect higher road tax bills than smaller SUVs.
Service intervals stand at 18,000 miles across the range. The car is built on Navara underpinnings so it handles rough use well and Nissan reliability records are generally solid.
Euro NCAP awarded four stars overall with strong adult protection from the full set of airbags and ESP. Child and pedestrian scores were lower. Isofix anchors are fitted on the outer second-row seats.
Living with the Pathfinder means accepting its size and weight for the sake of seven seats and three-tonne towing ability. High running costs come with the territory but the standard safety kit and long service gaps keep ownership straightforward.
