Boot space with the seats up is 370 litres.

Nissan Leaf 2010–2017 car dimensions: 4445 mm long, 1770 mm wide and 1550 mm high. Unladen weight is 1,475 kg. Boot space with the seats up is 370 litres.

The cabin seats five with a digital instrument cluster showing range, power and battery data plus a centre display for audio, climate and navigation on most grades. Automatic temperature control is standard, with a more efficient heat-pump system on higher trims. Cruise control sits on the steering wheel on mid and upper grades. A reversing camera is fitted on top grades and optional lower down, while parking sensors appear only on the highest trims. Late-production cars gained intelligent emergency braking on some versions. blind-spot and lane-keep systems are absent.

Boot space measures 370 litres with the rear seats up, dropping slightly on models with the Bose subwoofer. Folding the 60/40 split rear seats opens 720 litres, though the load floor is not fully flat because of the battery pack underneath.

The manufacturer lists no towing capacity. the car is not rated for braked or unbraked trailers. Payload is given as 395 kg. No heavy-duty cooling or reinforced suspension packages appear in the published specifications, so the Leaf is suited to light passenger and shopping duties rather than regular work hauling.

The cabin seats five adults with good front legroom and a 60/40 split-fold rear bench. Driver seat is 6-way manual, passenger 4-way manual. Cloth or recycled-fabric seats are standard, with leather on higher grades. Heated front seats are widely fitted and rear heated seats appear on select trims. Automatic climate control includes a timer and rear ducts. The EV layout keeps the floor flat and the cabin quiet. Digital gauges show range, power use and battery status.

Electric only. charges in about 8 hours on 240 V or 30 minutes to 80 percent on quick charge.

Tire rotation and basic checks every 7,500 miles or 6 months.

Euro NCAP five-star rating. NHTSA five-star overall on early years.

Standard six airbags, ABS, VDC, TCS, TPMS and LATCH anchors.

The Leaf runs solely on electricity from its under-floor lithium-ion pack. Home charging on a 240-volt unit takes roughly eight hours for a full charge. a CHAdeMO quick charger reaches 80 percent in about half an hour. Range varies with speed, temperature and climate use, so the trip computer and eco mode help manage remaining distance.

Servicing is lighter than a gasoline car because there is no engine oil or spark plugs. Scheduled work focuses on tire rotation, cabin filter, brake fluid and coolant at the intervals listed in the service guide. The single-speed reduction gear needs fluid changes at higher mileage points.

Crash tests gave the first-generation Leaf a five-star Euro NCAP score and five-star NHTSA ratings on 2011-12 models. Standard kit includes dual-stage front airbags, side and curtain airbags, ABS with brake assist, vehicle dynamic control, traction control, tire-pressure monitoring and child-seat anchors.

Keep the battery in good condition by avoiding deep discharges and extreme heat when possible. Use the onboard timers for charging and cabin preconditioning while plugged in. Regular multi-point inspections at a dealer help maintain the high-voltage system and chassis.
