The i-MiEV runs purely on electricity from its 16 kWh lithium-ion pack. Charge times run about 7 hours on 240V Level 2 or under 30 minutes to 80 percent on CHAdeMO DC quick charge. EPA figures show 126 city / 99 highway / 112 combined MPGe with a real-world range near 59-62 miles.
Servicing is simple with fewer moving parts than a petrol car. Intervals are every 12,500 miles or 12 months and cover brake fluid, coolant checks, battery health and high-voltage wiring. Battery capacity checks start at 12 months then every 24 months. Motor and heater coolant last up to 240 months.
