MINI Cooper Coupé 2011–2015 dimensions, boot 280 L

Boot space with the seats up is 280 litres.

MINI Cooper Coupé 2011–2015 car dimensions: 3734 mm long, 1683 mm wide and 1384 mm high. Unladen weight is 1,240 kg. Boot space with the seats up is 280 litres.

The two-seat cabin uses the familiar MINI layout with a large central speedometer that houses the audio display and optional navigation screen. Sport seats with height adjustment, a multifunction leather steering wheel, and cruise control come standard on the JCW. Air conditioning is standard, with automatic climate control fitted as standard in some markets or available via packages. Park distance control with rear sensors is standard. Bluetooth and USB connectivity are available. Rear visibility is restricted by the sloping roof and small rear window. No advanced driver aids such as automatic emergency braking, blind-spot warning or lane keep assist appear in the equipment lists for this generation.

Luggage capacity is 280 litres with a high-opening tailgate. A through-load hatch behind the seats lets longer items pass into the cabin. The space suits weekend bags or shopping but offers no further expansion as there are no rear seats.

Maximum payload is listed at 230 kg. No braked or unbraked towing figures are published for the Coupé. The JCW model carries sports suspension as standard along with larger brakes and performance tyres. The two-seat layout and compact size limit its suitability for regular work or heavy-duty tasks.

The two-seat cabin feels focused and sporty with a large central speedometer, chrome toggle switches and high-quality materials. Sports seats are standard and hold you firmly in place. Oval recesses in the headlining give decent headroom even with the low roof. The driving position works well with height-adjustable seats and a reach/rake steering wheel. Rearward visibility is limited by the small rear window and thick pillars. Expect some tyre noise and a firm ride on uneven roads.

Combined fuel use 7.1 l/100 km (39.8 mpg), CO2 165 g/km

Condition Based Service monitors oil, brakes and fluids

Standard DSC stability control plus DTC and EDLC on JCW

Front airbags and head-thorax side airbags standard

ABS, EBD, brake assist and hill start assist fitted

Euro NCAP not tested on Coupe (related hatch scored 5 stars)

The JCW Coupe returns a claimed combined 7.1 litres per 100 km and 165 g/km CO2. Real-world figures sit higher when driven hard, as expected from the 211 hp turbo engine. Premium unleaded is required.

Servicing follows the Condition Based Service system. Sensors track oil condition, brake pad wear and fluid levels so intervals adapt to how the car is used rather than fixed mileage alone. Brake fluid is typically due around every two years.

Safety kit includes dual front airbags, head-thorax side airbags, ABS with electronic brakeforce distribution, cornering brake control, brake assist, hill-start assist and Dynamic Stability Control. Dynamic Traction Control with Electronic Differential Lock Control is standard on the JCW. The Coupe itself was not crash-tested by Euro NCAP.

Living with the car means accepting a firm ride and limited rear visibility in exchange for sharp handling. The 280-litre boot is useful for a two-seater and the active rear spoiler helps high-speed stability. Regular CBS checks keep the turbo engine and chassis in good order.
