The cabin features the MBUX multimedia system with dual 12.3-inch displays including a touchscreen media display. Smartphone integration supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. THERMATIC two-zone automatic climate control is fitted. Cruise control comes as standard. Driver aids include Active Brake Assist for automatic emergency braking, Blind Spot Assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist, parking sensors with PARKTRONIC and a reversing camera. Servicing follows the ASSYST PLUS system. It calculates the next due date from distance and time, adjusting for short trips or hard use. Expect alternating A and B services at a Mercedes workshop.
The GLE platform scored five Euro NCAP stars in 2019, with the Coupé confirmed to the same standard. Adult protection reached 91 percent and child 90 percent. Standard safety covers PRE-SAFE, full airbags, autonomous braking and lane support.
