The G580 with EQ Technology uses a 116 kWh battery and four electric motors. Official combined energy use sits between 27.7 and 30.4 kWh per 100 km depending on specification, delivering a WLTP range of 434 to 473 km. DC fast charging reaches 200 kW for a 10-80 percent top-up in about 32 minutes while AC charging is rated at 11 kW.
Servicing follows a 12-month or 20,000 km interval. A high-voltage battery warranty of eight years or 160,000 km is listed alongside the vehicle’s standard warranty coverage.
Safety equipment is extensive and standard. The Driving Assistance package includes Active Brake Assist with pedestrian and cyclist detection, Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Blind Spot Assist with exit warning and Attention Assist. PRE-SAFE is fitted along with front, side, curtain and knee airbags plus rear side airbags. The structure carries a five-star Euro NCAP rating from the prior generation.
