Braked towing is 1,800 kg.

Mercedes-Benz EQC 2019– car dimensions: 4762 mm long, 1884 mm wide and 1624 mm high. Unladen weight is 2,495 kg. Braked towing is 1,800 kg.

The cabin features the MBUX system with twin 10.25-inch displays including a touchscreen media unit as standard. Dual-zone THERMATIC climate control is fitted across the range. Standard driver aids include Active Brake Assist for automatic emergency braking, Blind Spot Assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist, and cruise control. Parking sensors and a reversing camera come via the standard parking package on base models, with 360-degree camera available on higher trims. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto arrive as smartphone integration on Premium grades.

Boot space measures 500 litres with the rear seats in place. Folding the 40:20:40 split rear seats expands capacity to 1460 litres, creating a flat load floor with underfloor storage for charging cables.

The EQC 400 4MATIC offers a braked towing capacity of 1800 kg and unbraked of 750 kg. Payload sits at 445 kg based on the 2495 kg kerb weight and 2940 kg gross vehicle weight.

Comfort suspension with self-levelling rear air suspension is standard. No heavy-duty cooling or reinforced suspension options appear in the equipment lists for work-focused use.

The cabin stays quiet thanks to heat- and noise-insulating acoustic glass on the windscreen and front side windows. Front seats come with the Seat Comfort package as standard, offering electric height, backrest and cushion angle adjustment plus four-way lumbar support and manual cushion depth. Heated front seats are standard. Higher grades add multicontour seats with adjustable side bolsters and massage, plus the ENERGIZING package that links climate, lighting, music and seat functions into short wellness programmes. AIR-BALANCE brings optional cabin fragrance and ionisation. An electric sliding sunroof appears on Premium lines. Ambient lighting with 64 colours is widely fitted.

Fully electric with 80 kWh usable battery and zero tailpipe CO2.

Combined consumption listed between 19.7 and 25.0 kWh/100 km depending on cycle.

Service interval every 12 months or 15 000 miles, whichever comes first.

Euro NCAP five stars (2019): 96 % adult, 90 % child, 75 % vulnerable road users, 75 % safety assist.

Standard safety includes Active Brake Assist, Blind Spot Assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Multibeam LED headlights and seat-belt reminders for all rows.

The EQC 400 4MATIC runs solely on electricity from its floor-mounted lithium-ion battery. Official combined energy use sits in the low-to-mid 20 kWh/100 km range on the cycles published for the model. Range figures vary with equipment and conditions but the car is designed for everyday electric driving with pre-entry climate control that can draw power while plugged in.

Servicing follows the ASSYST system and is due once a year or every 15 000 miles. Because there is no combustion engine, the work focuses on brakes, tyres, suspension, high-voltage components, cabin filter and software updates. Brake fluid is renewed every two years. The high-voltage battery carries an eight-year warranty covering capacity retention.

Crash protection earned a full five-star Euro NCAP rating in 2019 with strong adult and child scores. Standard equipment covers autonomous emergency braking that also reacts to pedestrians and cyclists, lane-support systems, blind-spot monitoring and a full set of airbags including a driver knee bag. The structure remained stable in the offset frontal test and scored maximum points in the side barrier impact.

Day-to-day ownership centres on keeping the battery charged and software current. Tyre wear can be higher because of the car’s weight, so regular pressure and tread checks matter. The electric powertrain needs less routine fluid work than a combustion engine, yet high-voltage system inspections remain part of every service visit.
