Mahindra Bolero 2025– car dimensions: 3995 mm long, 1745 mm wide and 1880 mm high. Unladen weight is 1,620 kg. Boot space with the seats up is 384 litres.
The cabin stays basic and hard-wearing with vinyl seats on the base B4, fabric on B6 grades and leatherette on the top B8. Manual air-conditioning is standard and works well, though there are no rear vents. A 7-inch touchscreen arrives from the B6 upward with Bluetooth, USB-C charging and steering-mounted audio controls, but it lacks phone mirroring for Android Auto or Apple CarPlay. Reverse parking sensors, dual front airbags and ABS with EBD are fitted across the range. No advanced driver aids such as automatic emergency braking, blind-spot warning or lane keep appear on any trim.
The 7-seat layout uses foldable side-facing jump seats in the third row. With those folded, boot space is listed around 384 litres and forms a tall, upright area that takes large bags stacked vertically. Space shrinks sharply when the jump seats are in use.
The Bolero keeps its ladder-frame chassis, rear-wheel drive and leaf-spring rear suspension, updated with RideFlo frequency-sensitive dampers for better stability on rough roads.
The cabin feels basic and utilitarian with a dated dashboard layout and hard plastics. Front seats offer reasonable cushioning with new contours and leatherette upholstery on the top grade, though they can get warm. The middle row is more comfortable with decent thigh support and a centre armrest, while jump seats are upright and cramped. Manual air-conditioning cools well but lacks rear vents. Ride is improved yet still bouncy at the rear due to leaf springs.
1.5-litre diesel engine with 5-speed manual and RWD
60-litre fuel tank
Dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and reverse parking sensors standard
Service interval every 10,000 km
3 years or 1 lakh km warranty
The 1.5-litre three-cylinder diesel delivers usable low-end torque for everyday loads and rough roads. Claimed efficiency sits around 16-17 kmpl with a large tank that supports long range between fills.
Servicing is straightforward at authorised centres with intervals set at 10,000 km. Ownership costs stay low thanks to simple mechanicals and wide dealer coverage.
Safety kit covers the basics across the range with dual front airbags, ABS plus EBD, reverse sensors and front seatbelt reminders. No official crash-test rating is published for this model. Rear belts are non-retractable and jump seats lack belts.
Keeping the car is easy in rural or mixed-use settings where toughness and payload matter more than refinement. Regular checks on suspension and fluids keep it reliable over high kilometres.
