Lancia Gamma Coupé 1976–1984 car dimensions: 4485 mm long, 1730 mm wide and 1330 mm high. Unladen weight is 1,270 kg. Braked towing is 1,450 kg.

The cabin offers a refined 2+2 layout with wide, well-shaped seats in velour as standard and leather as an option. Electric front and rear windows, electrically adjustable exterior mirrors, height-adjustable steering wheel and power steering come as standard. Air conditioning is available. Headrests, rear sunblinds and door courtesy lights are fitted. The dashboard has round dials in a rectangular cluster with good ventilation. No electronic driver aids such as cruise control or parking sensors are present.

The boot holds 470 litres with the rear seats in place. Rear seats do not fold, so capacity stays fixed. Access is straightforward via the lid despite the high loading sill. Space suits luggage for two on longer trips.

Braked towing capacity reaches 1450 kg with a payload around 450 kg. The car suits light leisure towing rather than heavy work. Independent suspension all round and four disc brakes handle normal loads without special heavy-duty options.

The cabin feels like a refined travelling lounge with wide well-contoured seats covered in velour as standard and leather as an option. Large glass areas make it bright. Height-adjustable steering wheel, electric windows and mirrors, headrests and sun blinds come fitted. Seats support long journeys well with a low seating position.

Average fuel use around 11 L/100 km mixed.

Oil and filter changes needed every 5,000 km or yearly.

Cam belts due every three years.

Four disc brakes with dual circuit and servo.

Side intrusion bars in the doors.

Inertia-reel seat belts and headrests standard.

The 2.5-litre flat-four runs on petrol and returns mixed consumption near 11 litres per 100 km. Higher speeds or hard driving push it higher, as period tests showed figures from under 10 to over 16 L/100 km depending on conditions.

Servicing demands attention to the twin cam belts, which Lancia set at three years or 36,000 miles though many change them sooner. Oil changes are frequent at 5,000 km intervals with the correct grade. Cooling system and water pump need regular checks because of known liner and gasket issues on early cars.

Safety kit centres on four disc brakes (ventilated at the front), dual-circuit servo assistance, inertia-reel belts and headrests. The body includes side intrusion bars in the doors and other passive reinforcements. No airbags or ABS were fitted. No standardised crash-test star ratings exist for the model.

Keeping the car means watching for corrosion in sills, wheel arches and around lights, plus sourcing scarce specific parts. Manual gearboxes prove durable with regular oil changes. the later automatic is less so. Proper warm-up and belt care keep the engine reliable once early faults were addressed.
