Honda CR-V 2017–2023 car dimensions: 4600 mm long, 1855 mm wide and 1679 mm high. Unladen weight is 1,501 kg. Braked towing is 2,000 kg.
The SE cabin has dual-zone automatic climate control and a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard. Adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist and automatic emergency braking come via Honda Sensing on every model. Front and rear parking sensors plus a reversing camera are fitted. Blind spot warning is reserved for higher trims.
Five-seat models offer 561 litres with seats up and 1756 litres seats down to the roof. A two-position floor and one-motion folding seats create a flat load area. Seven-seat option reduces capacity when the third row is in use.
Petrol SE versions tow up to 2000 kg braked and 600 kg unbraked depending on drivetrain. Payload sits around 627 kg on 2WD models. No heavy-duty cooling or reinforced suspension is listed for this grade.
The cabin is roomy with good legroom front and rear thanks to the long wheelbase. Active Noise Cancellation keeps it quiet. Front seats have four-way power lumbar and are heated on the SE. Dual-zone climate control is fitted. Higher grades add an opening panoramic roof, eight-way power driver seat with memory, heated rear seats and heated steering wheel. Seats feel supportive for long trips with slim seatbacks that free up rear space.
Euro NCAP five-star rating (2019)
Honda Sensing suite standard including collision mitigation braking, lane keep assist and adaptive cruise
Multiple airbags including side and curtain
Available as 1.5 VTEC Turbo petrol or 2.0 i-MMD hybrid
Service interval every 12 months or 12,500 miles
The 2019 CR-V SE runs on the 1.5-litre VTEC Turbo petrol in manual or CVT form, or the 2.0-litre hybrid. Both are available with two-wheel or all-wheel drive. Official economy figures vary by powertrain and drivetrain but the hybrid is the more frugal choice for mixed driving.
Servicing follows Honda’s schedule of once a year or 12,500 miles, whichever comes first. The car has a service reminder system. Brake fluid and other fluids follow standard multi-year intervals.
Safety is strong with a full five-star Euro NCAP result from 2019. Adult occupant protection scored highly. Honda Sensing is standard across the range and includes automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, road departure mitigation and traffic sign recognition. The body uses Advanced Compatibility Engineering for crash energy management.
Ownership is straightforward. The interior materials and build hold up well. Keep to the service schedule and the powertrains are known for durability. Higher trims bring more convenience features but the SE already covers the main comfort and safety needs.
