Freelander 8 2026 dimensions, tows 2,000 kg

Braked towing is 2,000 kg.

Freelander 8 2026 car dimensions: 5118 mm long, 2050 mm wide and 1898 mm high. Unladen weight is 2,980 kg. Braked towing is 2,000 kg.

The cabin features a 46.3-inch 8K panoramic display and 15.6-inch Mini-LED center touchscreen as standard, with a 17.3-inch rear ceiling screen on higher trims. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto appear on higher grades along with four-zone climate control. All versions include Huawei Qiankun ADS 5 for adaptive cruise with stop-and-go, lane centering, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, and 360-degree camera views. Higher trims add more LiDAR hardware. Seats offer heating and ventilation across three rows on six-seat models, with massage on second-row captains chairs.

The boot behind the third row is tight in six-seat form. Third-row seats fold flat to create more usable space for luggage on longer trips.

An optional tow hitch supports up to 2000 kg. Dual-chamber air suspension is standard and adjusts ride height for varied surfaces. Higher trims add a front mechanical differential lock and rear electronic limited-slip differential for better traction off-road or when loaded.

The cabin feels like a high-end lounge with Nappa leather, open-pore wood and crystal controls. Second-row zero-gravity captain chairs power-recline to 145 degrees with four-way leg rests, 16-point massage, heat and ventilation. All three rows get heated and ventilated seats. Dual-layer acoustic glass plus active noise cancellation keeps things quiet. A 1.15-metre skylight corridor lights the third row, while a 10-litre fridge and 17.3-inch roof screen add rear luxury.

1.5T range-extender REEV with 60.3 kWh CATL battery and 310 km CLTC pure-electric range

800V platform charges 20-80% in 12 minutes at up to 350 kW

Huawei Qiankun ADS 5 driver assistance standard on all versions

Full-length curtain airbags plus six side airbags covering all three rows

Engineered to meet Euro NCAP, C-NCAP, ANCAP, Latin NCAP and ASEAN NCAP standards

The Freelander 8 runs as a range-extended electric SUV. A 115 kW 1.5-litre turbo engine acts only as a generator for the dual-motor AWD system that makes 610 kW and 813 Nm. The 60.3 kWh battery gives 310 km of pure-electric range on the CLTC cycle and supports rapid 800-volt charging.

No published service intervals appear for this new generation yet. The dual-chamber air suspension, mechanical front locker and electronic rear LSD form the core of the all-terrain hardware that will need regular checks in desert use.

Safety kit centres on Huawei Qiankun ADS 5 with multi-LiDAR as standard across the range. Curtain airbags run the full length of the cabin and six side airbags protect every row. The structure is developed to clear the five major global NCAP protocols. A manufacturer rollover demonstration left the vehicle driveable and able to climb afterwards.

Keeping the car means managing the high-voltage battery and the range-extender engine. Dual-motor AWD, air suspension and the i-ATS terrain system are standard, so tyre and suspension condition matter for the claimed 2000 kg towing and off-road ability.
