Fuel comes from the 2.2 Duratorq TDCi diesel range with outputs starting at 100 PS. Combined economy figures start from the mid-40s mpg range on NEDC tests depending on power and options like Auto-Start-Stop. Later 2.0 EcoBlue diesels replaced it with similar or better efficiency plus AdBlue on Euro 6 versions.
Servicing uses generous intervals of up to 30,000 miles or two years for the 2.2 engines, with an annual safety check recommended. Oil-life monitoring can call for earlier changes under hard use. The 2.0 EcoBlue versions later moved between 25,000 and 36,000 miles or two years.
Safety earned a full five-star Euro NCAP score in 2012 with strong adult and child protection scores. Standard kit includes electronic stability control with load adaptive and roll-over functions plus Hill Start Assist. Airbags start with the driver. more comprehensive packs appear on higher trims. Lane Keeping Alert was available as an option and recognised by Euro NCAP.
Keeping the van is helped by multi-piece bumpers for lower repair costs, high-mounted lights, and the long corrosion warranty. Regular servicing and attention to the diesel particulate filter on later engines keep it reliable for commercial work.
