The cabin seats eight or nine with rear seats that fold, tumble, stow or remove in many layouts including conference style. Mid and higher grades get an 8-inch colour touchscreen with SYNC 3 that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Front manual air conditioning is standard on most grades with rear air conditioning standard on Titanium and Sport. Cruise control with speed limiter is standard from Trend upwards. Front and rear parking sensors are standard on Titanium and above. Braked towing capacity reaches 2150 kg on manual versions and drops to around 1150 kg with automatic. Unbraked towing is 750 kg. Payload changes with engine, transmission and equipment. Optional rear air suspension keeps ride height steady under load.

The 2.0 EcoBlue diesels deliver efficient running with AdBlue required for Euro 6 compliance. Fuel figures vary by power output and transmission but stay competitive for the class.
Service intervals are variable and can reach two years depending on use, helping keep ownership costs down. An annual safety check is advised for heavier workloads.
It carries a 5-star Euro NCAP score from the related Transit Custom tests. Standard kit covers dual front airbags, side thorax and curtain airbags, ABS with EBA, ESP with rollover mitigation and load adaptive control. From the 2018 update, AEB with pedestrian detection and lane-keeping alert become available or standard on many grades.
