Fuel economy depends on the engine. Petrol versions return combined figures in the low-to-mid 40s mpg range on the official cycle while the 1.6 TDCi diesels reach the mid-60s mpg. Tank capacity is 55 litres across the range.
Servicing follows a 12,500-mile interval. The car carries a 3-year warranty as standard from new. Routine maintenance is straightforward with common parts availability for this high-volume model.
Safety kit is strong for the class. Every facelift Focus has ESP as standard along with ABS, brake assist, dual front airbags, side airbags and curtain airbags. The structure earned a full five-star Euro NCAP adult rating. ISOFIX mounts and seat-belt pretensioners are fitted.
