The cabin has a raised driving position with practical storage spaces throughout. Manual air conditioning and cruise control with speed limiter are standard. Higher grades add an 8-inch or 10-inch touchscreen supporting Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, plus electric windows all round. Automatic emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection plus lane keep assist come as standard. Rear parking sensors are widely fitted, while a reversing camera and blind spot warning appear on mid and top grades.

The cabin uses redesigned seats with better support and Stepway-specific fabric or washable MicroCloud upholstery plus copper or orange stitching and accents. Higher grades add a soft-feel steering wheel that adjusts for height and reach, a high central armrest with storage, and fabric inserts on the dash and doors. Manual or automatic air conditioning is fitted depending on grade. Heated front seats and heated steering wheel appear on top grades or via winter packs. Engines are small turbo petrol units with a bi-fuel LPG option that uses both petrol and gas tanks. Stop-start is fitted as standard to cut fuel use when stationary. Official combined figures sit in the mid-40s to low-50s mpg range depending on gearbox and fuel mode.
Servicing follows an annual schedule or mileage limit of around 18,000 miles, whichever comes first. Alternating A and B services cover oil, filters, brake fluid and other items. Prepaid service plans are available to spread costs.
Safety kit includes six airbags as standard along with ABS, emergency brake assist, automatic emergency braking, electronic stability control, hill-start assist and emergency call. Higher grades add blind-spot warning, parking sensors and a reversing camera. The 2021 Euro NCAP test scored two stars overall, with solid adult and child occupant protection but lower marks for assist systems and vulnerable road users.
The car is simple to live with thanks to modular roof bars that convert into a roof rack, a practical cabin with good storage and a split-fold rear bench. Warranty is three years or 60,000 miles as standard and can be extended with approved servicing.
