Braked towing is 1,400 kg.

Citroën C6 2005–2012 car dimensions: 4908 mm long, 1860 mm wide and 1464 mm high. Unladen weight is 1,816 kg. Braked towing is 1,400 kg.

Automatic dual-zone climate control with soft diffusion is standard. Cruise control with speed limiter is standard across the range. Front and rear parking sensors with visual display appear on higher trims such as Lignage and Exclusive. The NaviDrive system provides a colour multifunction screen and is standard on Exclusive or optional lower down. Lane departure warning via seat vibration is available on some grades or as an option. Head-up display is also available on higher trims.

Boot volume is 421 litres, or 411 litres with the Lounge Pack. A 60/40 split rear seat is available on non-Lounge versions.

Braked towing capacity is listed up to 1400 kg on most variants, with some engines rated higher to 1700 kg on shallower inclines. Unbraked towing is 750 kg. Payload is around 455-467 kg depending on engine and equipment.

The cabin feels like a quiet lounge with leather or velour seats that adjust electrically in multiple ways for strong postural support on long trips. Dual-zone automatic air conditioning uses soft diffusion for even, draught-free warmth or coolness, while laminated acoustic side glass keeps wind and road noise low. Rear passengers get space and optional electric individual seats that heat and slide for a relaxed position. The overall effect is refined and calm rather than sporty.

Engines include 3.0 V6 petrol and 2.2/2.7/3.0 HDi diesels with 72-litre tank

Service interval 30 000 km or 24 months

Euro NCAP 5 stars adult occupant, 4 stars child, 4 stars pedestrian

Standard safety includes up to nine airbags with knee bag, ESP, ABS with EBD and brake assist, active bonnet, tyre pressure monitor

Fuel options centre on smooth V6 petrol or HDi diesels with automatic gearboxes. Official combined figures sit in the mid-20s mpg for petrol and low-to-mid 30s for diesels. The large tank supports long motorway runs without frequent stops.

Servicing follows a 30 000 km or two-year cycle under normal use. The hydropneumatic system needs periodic checks on spheres and height sensors. Timing belts on the engines run to high mileages before replacement.

Safety kit is comprehensive from the base model: nine airbags covering front, side, curtain and driver knee, full ESP and ABS suite, plus the active bonnet that lifts on pedestrian impact. It scored maximum pedestrian stars and five for adults in Euro NCAP.

Living with the car means enjoying the magic-carpet ride but budgeting for specialist hydraulic work if spheres or pipes need attention. Parts remain available through the Citroën network and independent specialists familiar with the system.
