The cabin seats four in a sporty layout with individual rear seats and Nevada leather standard. Dual-zone automatic climate control is standard, with 4-zone available as an option. Cruise control with braking function is standard. iDrive uses a controller and colour Control Display (6.5-inch standard, larger with Professional navigation). Rear Park Distance Control is standard. front sensors and reversing camera are optional. Later in the run, blind-spot warning and lane departure warning became available as options. No Android Auto, Apple CarPlay or touchscreen interface was offered.
Boot space measures 570 litres with the rear seats up and expands to 1450 litres with the 60/40 split rear seats folded. The area is fully finished with a retractable cover as standard.
Unbraked towing capacity is 750 kg. Braked towing is rated up to 2700 kg as standard and can rise to 3500 kg with the increased towing capacity option that pairs with rear air suspension. Payload is typically 465-650 kg depending on engine and market, with figures around 540 kg common on petrol models. A detachable towbar is optional.
Self-levelling rear air suspension is optional and supports higher towing loads while keeping the ride height level. Adaptive Drive is also optional. The X6 M uses a sport-tuned suspension as standard. The vehicle is not positioned primarily for heavy work use.
The cabin has a sporty-exclusive feel with fully electric M front seats in Merino leather that give generous side support even in the shoulder area. Individual rear seats feature integrated headrests and side supports. High-quality materials include a leather-covered dashboard and centre-console kneepads. Multi-contour seats add further power adjustments for shoulder, thigh and backrest width when specified.

The X6 M twin-turbo V8 needs premium unleaded. Official EU combined consumption is 13.9 l/100 km with 325 g/km CO2.
Servicing follows the Condition Based Service system. It monitors oil condition, brakes and other items according to actual use rather than fixed mileage. Oil and filter changes are typically flagged around every 15 000 km or once a year depending on driving style.
The model was never crash-tested by Euro NCAP. Standard safety equipment covers front and side airbags plus head airbags with rollover sensor, Dynamic Stability Control with M Dynamic Mode, ABS, Cornering Brake Control, Hill Descent Control, active front headrests and ISOFIX child-seat anchors.
