The 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol makes 156 hp and 230 Nm, sent to the front wheels through a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Claimed fuel economy is 15.5 kmpl on the ARAI cycle and the car accepts E20 fuel.
BMW covers the car with a two-year unlimited-kilometre warranty and two years of 24x7 roadside assistance. Optional Service Inclusive plans start at three years or 40,000 km and can stretch to ten years or 100,000 km. Extended warranty is also available up to ten years.
Safety kit includes eight airbags, ABS with brake assist, electronic stability and traction control, tyre-pressure monitoring and ISOFIX anchors. Driver aids cover lane-departure warning and assist, blind-spot detection, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian protection and attentiveness assist, plus cruise control with braking function. A 360-degree camera and reversing assistant that remembers the last 50 m are standard. The long-wheelbase model has not been independently crash-tested yet.
