The cabin has a curved dual display with 12.3-inch digital cluster and 14.9-inch touchscreen running iDrive 8.5. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard. Four-zone automatic climate control is standard. Front and rear parking sensors, reversing camera, park assist, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning and lane keep assist all come standard. Adaptive cruise and higher-level lane centering sit in an optional package. Sport seats, head-up display and Bowers & Wilkins audio are also standard. The setup suits daily driving with clear controls and strong safety net, though full highway assist needs the extra pack.
Boot space is 466 litres with seats up. The 40:20:40 split-folding rear seats open a path for longer items. Power tailgate and hands-free opening are standard. Space is practical for a performance sedan but smaller than a regular 5 Series due to the battery pack under the floor.
Braked towing capacity reaches 2000 kg and unbraked is 750 kg. An optional electrically extending trailer hitch is available. Payload is 505 kg. Adaptive M suspension is standard. The car handles light trailer use well thanks to xDrive and the hybrid torque, but it is not set up as a heavy work vehicle.
M multifunction seats come standard with wide electric adjustments including backrest width for bolsters, thigh support, lumbar and memory. Front seats are ventilated and heated. outer rear seats are heated with electric blinds. Four-zone climate control and a heated flat-bottom M steering wheel are fitted. Merino leather, ambient lighting with Interaction Bar and Bowers & Wilkins 18-speaker system create a sporty yet refined cabin. M carbon-ceramic brakes standard
The plug-in hybrid pairs a twin-turbo V8 with an electric motor for combined output. Pure electric range reaches 69 km under WLTP. A 60-litre tank supports longer trips once the battery depletes. Onboard AC charging is rated at 7.4 kW and a wallbox is supplied with the car.
Servicing follows BMW Condition Based Service. The high-voltage battery carries its own multi-year coverage. Standard warranty runs three years or 200,000 km.
Safety equipment is extensive as standard and includes front, side and curtain airbags plus a centre airbag, ABS, DSC with M modes, tyre-pressure monitoring, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assistance, blind-spot detection, rear cross-traffic alert and full Parking Assistant Professional with surround cameras. Adaptive LED headlights and pedestrian acoustic protection are also present.
