Servicing uses the Condition Based Service system that tracks wear via the onboard computer. An early running-in oil and fluid change is required. BMW Service Inclusive packages are offered to cover scheduled work.
Safety kit includes dual-stage front airbags with passenger sensor, seat-mounted side airbags, continuous head airbags front and rear, ABS, DSC with brake assist, ISOFIX child anchors, tyre pressure warning and crash-activated fuel cut-off. Side-impact door beams and a deformable bumper system are built in. The related 3 Series scored five stars for adult protection in Euro NCAP tests.
The carbon-fibre roof lowers weight and centre of gravity for better daily handling. Keep the high-revving engine on fresh oil as prompted and check the compound brakes regularly to maintain the car’s sharp response.
