The 4.0 TFSI V8 returns a combined figure of 9.6 l/100 km thanks to cylinder-on-demand that shuts four cylinders under light load. Real-world use stays efficient on motorways yet rises quickly when the full 412 kW is used.
Service needs follow the car’s interval display, typically oil changes and inspections on a flexible schedule. High-mileage or hard-driven cars need more frequent attention to brakes, tyres and the complex cooling system.
Safety hardware starts with six or eight airbags, full ESC suite and ISOFIX. Pre sense basic is standard. adaptive cruise, lane assist and side assist are available. The base A6 platform earned five Euro NCAP stars.
Living with the RS6 means accepting higher running costs for consumables and specialist work. Regular oil changes, coolant checks and verified recall completion keep the twin-turbo V8 reliable over high mileage.
